i57: Molotovs n Marshmallows overthrow CEX

In keeping with the status quo of upsets this LAN has set, 8th seed Molotovs n Marshmallows have knocked CeX out of the event.

CeX, who were looking to repeat their first place at iSeries after a disappointing performance at epicLAN and the addition of Sheekey and Peggyyyyy, found themselves at the end of an early exit from i57 and a finishing place below their seed. They were knocked down into the lower bracket by Rasta Gaming in a battle which took place on the eSports stage with a 2-0 scoreline.

The first map in the best of three series was de_dust2 which was CeX’s pick. A fairly simple game being mostly held over by MnM’s ability to pressure the map, allowing for a 16:10 scoreline. Leaving the potential for MnM to dispatch this series 2:0, taking their confident pick of de_cache. This game turned out to be an unfortunate un-casted showstopper, mainly down to MnM closing out first half 4 – 11 as well as proceeding to lose T side pistol round. However, rather impressively the squad managed the feat of overturning these results and bringing it back from 4:12 to 16:14, closing out a successful series for the team.

They are a very good team, its unfortunate we have to play them for the 9th – 12th spot. They deserve a higher placing.
