insomnia57: Intermediate Tournament Final

by Archive

At Insomnia, and most BYOC events, there are Intermediate tournaments, or “Inters, to tie the teams over who get knocked out in groups on the first day of LAN so they’re not sat down twiddling their thumbs doing next-to-nothing for the rest of the event. For this final, we saw Crossfire go up against Odin eSports for tickets to the next iSeries event.

BMiCREW’s ryfoolz being the super sub for Crossfire

Due to one of Crossfire’s players having to leave for work the next morning, they were forced to draft in Rasta Gaming veteran, and one time writer for UKCSGO, Ryan “ryfoolz” Fuller who had played for BMiCREW earlier in the tournament for the final game. The first map was Cobblestone, and this was a dominant map for Crossfire as they went into the half 13-2. A wondrous comeback from the Odin side managed to bring it much closer but Crossfire managed to end the game in convincing fashion, winning Cbble 16-11.

Next up was Cache, and it was slightly closer this time, as the went into the half at 10-5. But they didn’t put a foot wrong after that, finishing the game 16-5 and taking the final 2-0. Crossfire are the Intermediate tournament champions and take home the BYOC tickets for the next event.
