Royals crown their new fifth

After speculation and rumours surrounding Royals' new fifth player ensued, Seán "Atrox" Greene has been confirmed as the squad's new pickup.

Royals have announced their permanent replacement for John “Dutchy” Holland, in the form of Seán “Atrox” Greene. Despite the team’s success in the regular season of ESEA Main, Dutchy sought pastures new as a result of differences between his and the team’s cultural and in game philosophies. UKCSGO learned that Royals were considering multiple players to fill his place in the roster, and of the three choices in Kamyar “shateri” Shateri and Reegan “ReegaN” Ward, Atrox was the players’ final choice. More information surrounding these trialists can be read about in our previous report:

REPORT: Royals consider three players to fill the Dutchy void

Atrox leaves Arctic Raptors after three season with the team, spanning two extremely dominant showings in Main to ultimately qualify for Advanced, where the Raptors only managed to earn their stay for the last season. Arctic Raptors ended their inaugural outing in the league with a 5-9 record, and subsequently have been demoted to Main heading into ESEA Season 45. At the same time as Atrox left the team, the British organisation also announced the benching of William “wfn” Maskrey.

Royals recently extended their win streak in Main and ended the regular season with a 12-2 record, earning them a bye in the first round of playoffs. Their next opponent looks to be the Russian mix-team farfaraway whose only UK opposition in the season was Clique in their introductory match of ESEA this season, losing 16-12 on Overpass. It is unlikely that Atrox will play the post-season with Royals due to the deadline for ESEA’s roster lock , with shateri looking like the most feasible option to fill the void for the remainder of the season.

Royals head into Season 44 of Main playoffs as:

Kyle “swaggy” Wilson
Edgaras “entz” Luksas
Timothy “tvs” Sjöberg
Xavér “xavi” Hebők
Seán “Atrox” Greene
Kamyar “shateri” Shateri (stand-in)

Andreas “addi” Wallenberg (Coach)
