Royals crown their newest coach

Royals look to subtract their losses and tally up a winstreak with a familiar face.

Royals have announced that their current coach, Andy “Mythix” Shek will be moving from his position into a more background-oriented role within the team. This puts an end to the almost year-long stint with Royals, however his links to the team and specifically Kyle “Swaggy” Wilson date back to years at a time. This makes way for the team’s most recent addition, aptly named Andreas “addi” Wallenberg.

addi‘s most recent tenure as both a coach and a substitute player was with the Norwegian organisation Vikings Esport, accompanied by a flush of Swedish players. His links to the team date back to the end of spring this year, coaching notable swedes Alex “PALM1” Palm, and Kamyar “shateri” Shateri, both of whom are part of the expansive Royals alumni. Despite a fifth-place finish in the autumn season of the Fragleague Nordic Championship, Vikings Esport ended the most recent season of ESEA Main with a 7-7 record, missing out on the opportunity of playoffs.

This brings addi back to some familiar faces in Royals, where he had a brief stint coaching the team back at the beginning of the year during their efforts in ESEA Advanced and the ESL Premiership. The team’s roster was quite notably unstable, and plenty of roster moves took place over the coming months which led addi to his most recent tenure alongside his fellow countrymen.

When asked for comment on addi’s addition, Swaggy said:

addi is a great person that knows how to improve players and a team as a collective. From my past work with him, I know he’s a brilliant coach to take us to the next level and add much-needed composure to the team. It is evident from day one the quality he brings, and I’m excited about working with him again because of his obvious quality and my respect for him.”

Royals were relegated from Advanced during Season 42 of ESEA, and looked to bounce back and reinstate their place in the league with a successful run in the most recent season of Main. Disappointment set in after losses in playoffs to MCE Gameexpert and a Timothé “DEVIL” Démolon-led TheDice, and the team were relegated to another season in Main, prompting this change in the coaching department. Royals look to subtract their losses and breathe new life into the players with their newfound coach addi.

The Royals lineup now features:

Kyle “Swaggy” Wilson
John “Dutchy” Holland
Edgaras “entz” Luksas
Timothy “tvs” Sjöberg
Xavér “xavi” Hebők
Andreas “addi” Wallenberg (Coach)
