Rumour – Infused to lose AaroN?

by Archive

Team Infused have not had the best time of late, especially after this past weekend at the Gfinity UK Championship, where they managed to throw away a 2-0 lead against EZSkins, losing out on a much more substantial share of the prize fund. The roster are known to make changes in times of turmoil, however it has been quite some time since the team have made a proper change – only coming close when playing with stand-ins at the last epic LAN event.

However, chatter among the UK scene seems to suggest that the team will soon be undergoing a change once again, waving goodbye to Aaron “AaroN” Hemmings, who joined the roster some time ago in April. Though the team’s weekend to not go to plan, this does not appear to be the reason for the new void in the roster, instead being due to a change in circumstances for the departing player due to new working hours. This change would make it unfeasible for the team to continue at the top of their game whilst still holding Aaron within their ranks.

Whilst the decision is a completely justifiable one, such a change with an event on the horizon is a move that would leave the team at a disadvantage. Bringing in a new player often comes with a few teething problems, and not only with regards to the transition into the existing roster. However, there are a few names currently being thrown about to take up the fifth spot in the team, and neither of which would join as a complete stranger.

The first suggested player is Team Infused’s epic LAN stand-in from Sweden, Robin “robiin” Sjögren. If true, Robin would be welcomed with open arms into the team with his staggering performance and crucial role in the teams win at the UK event. The other player on the cards is Fréderic “Monu” Dewever, who despite not having played with the Infused team, has played alongside Joey “CRUC1AL” Steuse when he decided to leave Infused in favour of an all Benelux Team Orbit.

With either player, a smooth transition into work as normal can be expected, with both possessing the necessary skills to keep Infused competing at the top of the UK scene.
