Vexed sign former NiP rifler Pyth; turn International

by Archive

Vexed have today announced the long awaited changes to their CS:GO lineup, which were expected after British player Charlie “pickles” Pickles and Norwegian Erik “truth” Hansen Dyrnes left the team at the start of August, meaning they were down to three players and as such were not in attendance at the recent Insomnia 63 event.

Their new changes make the team an international lineup, and coming in is at one well known name. Starting off is the acquisition of former NiP rifler Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi, who was a member of the Swedish Digital Chaos team, before leaving leaving the team and joining Paperplanes, who collapsed earlier this month. Joining him will be fellow Swede Hannes “HNS” Johansson, who most recently has been a member of Represent and took part in the first GAMERZ competition. His addition, alongside current member Max “Quix” Lindqvist, means this team becomes a Swedish majority roster.

However Vexed intend to keep a presence in the UK, and to do that they have attained the services of Nathan “wh1sk” Alderson for the ESL UK Premiership and HP Omen Open. wh1sk is another youngster for this team, and the player has fluttered around a number of teams in the lower divisions of the UK scene, including a recent stint with XENEX at the ESL UK Premiership Spring 2018 finals, where they finished 3/4th after losing 2-0 to eventual winners Epsilon in the semi-finals. wh1sk’s addition is required due to the team needing 3/5 players with UK, or Ireland, residency, and without him they only have two, in the form of Oscar “Ozzy” Scott and Kyle “vanity” Garthwaite.

The statement from Vexed is as follows:

At Vexed Gaming we feel it is extremely important to help grow and nurture talent on our home soil in the United Kingdom, But to do this, our upcoming talent must have someone with experience to learn from. This is why today we are proud to announce the next evolution of our Counterstrike division by welcoming a familiar face within the CSGO scene to the Vexed Gaming Roster. Please welcome Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi, Previously of Ninjas in Pyjamas.

We also welcome Hannes “HNS” Johansson and Nathan “Wh1sk” Alderson to our roster. As previously mentioned growing UK Talent is extremely important for us here at Vexed Gaming, with the addition of young talent Nathan “wh1sk” Alderson we look to compete across the ESL UK Premiership and HP Omen Open offering invaluable experience for a young up coming player.

The new Vexed roster is as follows:

Kyle “vanity” Garthwaite
Oscar “Ozzy” Scott
Max “Quix” Lindqvist
Jacob “Pyth” Mourujärvi
Hannes “HNS” Johansson
Nathan “wh1sk” Alderson – UK Tournament Substitute
Daneil “Spray” Kogan – Coach

Vexed are currently competing in the ESEA Advanced division for Season 29, and retain a ESL UK Premiership spot for the upcoming season as well as being set to take part in the HP Omen Open tournament at the end of the year. The full announcement can be found on their website.
