FunctionEsports Expand Within The UK

by Perry Kimpton

last week FunctionEsports were delighted to announce the acquisition of two of the next up and coming teams in the UK scene. Team Emnity and Synthetic.GG have both joined the Function brand for the coming months that will see them compete in many online tournaments such as ESEA Open and UCGL June tournament as well as competing offline at i58 in this coming August.

Emnity have recently shown great online prowess with the team recently finishing 2nd in the Game Face tournament, beating teams such as Odin eSports along the way, along with the qualification into the UCGL tournament in June. The team will be taking the name Function.GG for the foreseeable future.

As a reasonably new team we are extremely happy to be given the opportunity to play under an organisation that I have prior experience with and know the management team well. Forming in April we set out with the goal to try and achieve something in the UK Competitive scene, with a line-up of mixed experience team wise. The team consists of myself, Hemy, GW, Zydee and we have plans to finalise our 5th spot very soon. As a line up we have the perfect mix of experience and insane firepower. This has allowed us to put up some significant numbers in small cups against already established teams. Our team is planning on attending i58 in August and also competing in the upcoming ESEA Open league starting on the 29th of May. We’re especially excited to be working under Function Esports as they have recently expanded their management team meaning the communication between the team and organisation is well established and allows both parties to voice their comments and concerns. On a short term basis we are mainly focusing on upcoming LAN events and playing in small cups and Open league as some experience for the newer guys. And hopefully, with the support of Function, we can look further to get our name out there on the competitive circuit!

Ex-Synthetic (now Function.UK) may not be as well-known to the UK scene, however, have shown great potential from their online results as of late. They too have recently qualified for the UCGL tournament despite them being a relatively new roster. The roster consists of jR, HydRex, REiGN, dzyr and RAPtUM. Despite being a newly formed roster they have experience in the form of HydRex, who placed 13th-16th at Epic17.

We are a team of UK based players who are eager to succeed within the UK scene. We are planning to go to as many LAN events as possible such as insomnia and epic LAN. We are excited to be representing Function eSports as they help us to progress and succeed as a team.
-Fraser ‘REiGN‘ Powell

The organisation are very optimistic at this time for the two teams with the hope of being a force in the UK scene.

As the leader and CEO of the FunctionEsports organisation, I’m excited to work with Function.GG and Function-UK to achieve the goal of distending the CSGO scene within the UK. I and my team look forward to what the future entails.
