The ESL UK Premiership saw the hopeful side of MALIK eSports eventually not make it to the offline finals, falling to the hands of the team that went on to come in fourth place under the psuedonym of EZSkins.com.
Since the disappointing performance, the side went on to draft in Mike “Powell” Powell in the place of Shane “shaney” Smith, who has since been linked to other teams. From then on, things went quiet for the MALIK side, until very recently, where they have been announced as the new line-up for the Choke Gaming organisation, with a few notable changes.
Firstly, Grant “inkG” Smillie will no longer be playing for the side, and instead young gun Benajmin “Esio” Doughty will be stepping in to the five man roster. Secondly, the team have brought on board a dedicated manager in the form of Joe “Skii” Williams, a man with a wealth of experience in organisational management.
New Choke Gaming CS:GO Manager Joe “Skii” Williams gave the following statement:
On behalf of the team, I am very proud that we will be now working with and representing Choke Gaming. Our aspirations and goals match those of the organisation, especially when it comes to promoting the UK scene as a whole. With the support that Choke can provide us and with hard work, I am confident that the team can improve and take Choke back to the top of UK Counter-Strike. We are really looking forward to working with Choke and their sponsors, Eclipse Computers, ASUS, XFX, Crucial and GT Omega.
Therefore, Choke Gaming are:
Ian “Immi” Harding
Carl “Peggyyyy” Kneale
Benajmin “Esio” Doughty
Max “MIGHTYMAX” Heath
Mike “Powell” Powell
