The groups have been released for the epic23 CS:GO tournament. The first stage of the tournament sees eight groups of four teams, from which the top two will advance in to 16 team elimination bracket. Due to there being only 30 teams taking part, two teams feature just three teams.
Seeds
The admin team at epic.LAN have today announced what the seedings will be for epic21. With around 28 teams taking part, the admins have opted for 16 seeds and with a stacked field of teams, it has been incredibly difficult for them to get it accurate.
The seeds for the epic20 LAN tournament have been released by the good old admin team sitting over on their desks. We’ll release the groups as soon as we get them, but for now here are the tournament seeds in an easy to read format.

It is one of the most hotly anticipated subjects at an iSeries event. Everyone will be expecting a seed, just to make their path through the group stages “easier”, some will be disappointed they didn’t get some and accept that. Others though won’t be so accepting and will suddenly storm down to the Admin table and list every single meaningless result possible to the admins in the hopes of forcing them to change their minds.
After a few shufflings and disagreements about how the seeds were determined, the admins have finally reached an agreement and the seeds have been set.
Starting off at the higher end of the seedings, we see uFrag, Bulldog eSports and VATIC take the top 3 spots, meaning that they will be skipping groups entirely. This, therefore, guarantees them a top 8 finish at epic.NINETEEN, without having to play a game. Meanwhile going downwards, we see Dog Gaming, Rasta and Dragon receive the 4th, 5th, and 6th seeds respectively, with Odin eSports and Radix finishing off the list.
The organisers will be publishing the groups momentarily, and they will be shared on UKCSGO following their release.
The epic.NINETEEN seeds are:
uFrag / Bulldog / Vatic play for top 3 seedings.
Dog Gaming (4)
Rasta Gaming (5)
Dragon eSports (6)
Odin eSports (7)
Radix (8)
Groups will be starting at 11am. Alongside the games will be written coverage, video interviews and more. If you want to watch as the action happens, you can tune in at twitch.tv/epiclan1
Many months and many articles of moaning later, we’ve managed to grab hold of all the GOTV IPs for this event for EVERY SINGLE GROUP STAGE MATCH IN PROGRESS. The downside, there is no possible way of knowing what server will be playing host to what teams, so it’s a lottery of who you may find on each of these respective servers throughout today. Maybe you will stumble onto a good game somewhere after 3 hours of finding. However beggars cannot be choosers here!!

It is probably my most favourite part of LAN, because even though I don’t do them or even influence them, I still manage to get chastised for being “involved” and “not knowing the scene at all” because I “missed out a certain cup, or league or event that happened”.
That’s right, it’s the Seedings. Where everyone forgets what “seeds” are, and starts to twist it to suit their own silly agenda like it makes a difference. Still I’m sure Jon “ViciousHorizion” Kelly will listen to the droning on from some pointless team who will only just scrape it to Top 16 and claim they should be a Top 8 seed.

Remember both CAZ eSports & fm-eSports skip the group stages today as they have UK Masters to attend later this evening (at 6pm). As an also added extra, the final 8 seeds (all in Low Seeds) will be grouped together as paired, and will be in the groups to battle out for the actual 13/16 seed position. These teams were decided as “too close to call” and thus have been allowed to battle it out in the group stages instead to try and get into the Elimination Stages. It is a rather unique but bold strategy from the admin team this event, and one we look forward to watching unfold as the groups get underway in just over one hour from now.

epic.EIGHTEEN have released the seeds for the CSGO tournament and, as expected, Rasta Gaming have claimed the first place seed with James “redSNK” Littlewood’s Infused coming up in second. The rest of the seeded teams follow suit with what we predicted with one exception. Jack “jacky” Peters has brought the first CSGO team to epicLAN with a foreign majority. Four Danes and jacky were rumoured to take this event by storm but haven’t managed to steal the eye of the admins to get them a seeded spot.
The top four seeds are in line with what most LAN patrons would expect, and sees both MnM and Team uFrag guaranteed a more straight forward route into what they will hope to be a successful event. The bottom four seeds could likely have been drawn in any order. Most surprisingly, the newly acquired VATIC team have only managed to bag the eighth seed. With former heavy hitters making up the bulk of the side, and the talent of Charlie “K1NDEADLY” Weber making up the numbers, it would have been expected that this side would’ve been a little further up the ranks.
The seeds for epic.EIGHTEEN are as follows:
1st – Rasta Gaming – CRUC1AL, robiin, Kryptix, aaron, mole
2nd – Team Infused – Redsnk, Joee, dream, Roma, Jenko8
3rd – Molotovs N Marshmallows – fearLess, Berty, EB, chronic, maxyB
4th – Team uFrag – adamxoxo, JT, Esio, Jak3y, Powell
5th – Perilous.FURY – SpeedyG, ALIG, ZEO, Sliggy, MiGHTYMAX
6th – Playhackz – cookeh, HoodluM, dUdley, archer, m1tch
7th – exceL eSports – GhosT, EMPEROR, KoRaL, Outy, calv1n
8th – VATIC – K1NDEADLY, PEZ, Pommey, h0rsey, RIXJ
The tournament is set to start at 12pm so make sure to follow our Facebook and Twitter for all the latest updates, as well as the epicLAN stream with Hoss and Crossy bringing you games throughout the day.
Despite some lengthy delays today, the seedings and groups have been finalised at insomnia56, with a total of 54 teams, it should be an intriguing tournament with it the most wide open iSeries we’ve seen in a very long time.
