Endpoint Win ESL Premiership

by Archive

The Summer season of the ESL Premiership has come to an end. After a day of hotly contested Counter Strike action, Endpoint managed to walk away with the title.

Fierce Esports v Wind & Rain

Kicking off the day was top seed Fierce Esports taking on Wind & Rain. Wind & Rain immediately caused the upset in game one, handing Fierce their first map loss of the season before mounting an impressive comeback on Inferno to take the series and advance to the grand finals.

Vexed v Endpoint

The second game of the day saw eventual champions Endpoint battle Vexed. Vexed managed to grab control in the latter stages of Nuke to secure the first map of the series but Endpoint responded with a hard fought win on Inferno to take the series to a deciding third map.

Despite early control from Vexed, Endpoint managed to overturn the deficit and managed to take the win to secure their place in the finals alongside Wind & Rain.

Endpoint v Wind & Rain

Eight weeks of competition had come down to this match. Inferno went in favour of Wind & Rain and looked extremely comfortable while Endpoint struggled to find a rhythm.

After a back and forth first half on Dust2, Wind & Rain managed to grab a slender advantage before Endpoint rallied back to force overtime. After 46 closely contested rounds, it was Endpoint that managed to break the deadlock, taking the map 25-22 to take the finals to a deciding game of Train.

Like Inferno, it was Wind & Rain grabbing the early lead and extending it but Endpoint managed to remain close behind. A strong second half for Endpoint saw them close out the series 2-1 and defend their Premiership title.

With this victory, Endpoint become the first team to win three Premiership championships in any title.
